Steel erection rigger — Powhatan County

Join our team: we are hiring a steel erection rigger in Powhatan County, Virginia. The job is in a steel fabrication yard. Day to day you will inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight; direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio; secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists; take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings. Ideal candidate: • Proven experience as a rigger on construction or industrial sites • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness Rotating shifts.
