Shakeout operator — Gates County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Gates County, North Carolina. You will work at a busy iron foundry. The role involves tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces. What we are looking for: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards $190 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
