Foundry operative — Grayson County

Join our team: we are hiring a foundry operative in Grayson County, Texas. What we are looking for: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Your main tasks: • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring 1+ years on the tools preferred.
