Vacancy available: we are hiring a core maker in Kiowa County, Kansas. The job is in the fettling and dressing shop. The role involves: • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces What we are looking for: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Basic grinding and fettling skills Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. $3,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
