Now hiring: we are hiring a flatlock machine operator in San Miguel County, Colorado. The job is on an export house sewing floor. Ideal candidate: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory You will trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation.
