Foundry operative • Saint Clair County, Illinois

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a foundry operative in Saint Clair County, Illinois. You will work in the fettling and dressing shop. What we are looking for: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings The role involves: • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes Six days a week, one day off. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Walk-in interviews this week.
