Core maker • Ohio County, Kentucky

We are recruiting: we are hiring a core maker in Ohio County, Kentucky. You will be based on the moulding line. On a typical shift you will skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects. What we are looking for: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. $4,700 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
