Foundry operative wanted in Wasco County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry operative in Wasco County, Oregon. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. Ideal candidate: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Your main tasks: • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch Performance bonus on top of base pay.
