Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Day-to-day duties: • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
