System formwork carpenter • Somerset County, Maryland

Vacancy available: we are hiring a system formwork carpenter in Somerset County, Maryland. The job is on a residential tower site. Ideal candidate: • Skilled with circular saw, hand tools and spirit level • Able to read formwork and structural drawings • Sound understanding of props, bracing and load-bearing The role involves fix soldiers, walers and tie rods to resist the concrete pressure; watch the formwork during concreting and tighten up any movement; cut and assemble plywood and timber panels for columns, beams and slabs; seal panel joints and hold the correct concrete cover to prevent grout loss; check alignment with spirit level, plumb bob and string line; apply mould-release oil to the plywood faces before concreting.
