Argon welder — Grand Traverse County

Vacancy available: we are hiring an argon welder in Grand Traverse County, Michigan. You will work at a stainless steel fabrication shop. You will strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; carry out 6G pipe welds where required; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run. You should have: • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
