Head butcher — Clackamas County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a head butcher in Clackamas County, Oregon. The job is at a wholesale meat market. On a typical shift you will keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools; dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date; keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled; sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder; portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights. Requirements: • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Quick and accurate on the weighing scales and order maths • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day 5+ years on the tools preferred. $140 per day, negotiable for the right hands. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
