Great opportunity: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Lucas County, Iowa. The job is in a hotel or restaurant butchery. On the job you will handle: • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain • Debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone Ideal candidate: • Clean, presentable and friendly at the counter • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate • 2+ years experience working as a butcher At least 3 year(s) in a similar role. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
