Structural MIG welder — Plymouth County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a structural MIG welder in Plymouth County, Iowa. You will be based at a steel fabrication workshop. Day-to-day duties: • Check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration • Tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing • Weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions • Strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc • Clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead • Load ER70S-6 wire spools and check the drive rolls You should have: • Comfortable welding mild steel, stainless and aluminium • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances We offer $20 per hour plus benefits.
