Sand plant operator — Madison County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Madison County, Texas. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. The role involves skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand. Ideal candidate: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
