Immediate opening: we are hiring a machinist in Dyer County, Tennessee. The job is in a textile and apparel unit. Requirements: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines Day-to-day duties: • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
