Core maker — Hinsdale County

Join our team: we are hiring a core maker in Hinsdale County, Colorado. The role involves: • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity Requirements: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry Rotating shifts.
