Argon welding operator — Snyder County

Great opportunity: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Snyder County, Pennsylvania. You will be based at an automotive body and exhaust shop. What we are looking for: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard On a typical shift you will inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run; run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent. Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. $30 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Six days a week, one day off. Apply today to start as soon as possible.
