Shakeout operator — West Baton Rouge Parish

Immediate opening: we are hiring a shakeout operator in West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. You will be based at an aluminium die-casting plant. Your main tasks: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles Requirements: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
