Garment machinist — Cherokee County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a garment machinist in Cherokee County, Kansas. The job is in a textile and apparel unit. You will sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges; topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching. Ideal candidate: • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
