Foundry operative — Pitkin County

Join our team: we are hiring a foundry operative in Pitkin County, Colorado. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. What we are looking for: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts You will pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale.
