Immediate opening: we are hiring a lifting rigger in City of Winchester, Virginia. The job is at a shipyard. Ideal candidate: • Willing to work shifts, weekends and outdoors in all weather • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles Your main tasks: • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use • Read lift plans and method statements before starting • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. $4,750 per project, negotiable for the right hands.
