Ideal candidate: • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles The role involves: • Rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position • Attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists • Coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller • Read lift plans and method statements before starting Six days a week, one day off.
