Now hiring: we are hiring a core maker in Thurston County, Washington. The role involves prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant. Ideal candidate: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Full-time with occasional weekends.
