Gtaw welder — Massac County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a gtaw welder in Massac County, Illinois. You will be based at a stainless steel fabrication shop. On a typical shift you will prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal. Requirements: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Own basic hand tools and PPE Performance bonus on top of base pay. Part-time with flexible hours. Contact us to fix an interview.
