Foundry worker — Allamakee County

Now hiring: we are hiring a foundry worker in Allamakee County, Iowa. You will work at a busy iron foundry. Day-to-day duties: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles Requirements: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor We offer $2,600 per month plus benefits.
