GTAW welder — Johnston County

Now hiring: we are hiring a GTAW welder in Johnston County, North Carolina. The job is in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. On the job you will handle: • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise Requirements: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Able to pass a weld test on the spot Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
