Core maker — Muscatine County

Now hiring: we are hiring a core maker in Muscatine County, Iowa. You will work in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Day to day you will mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces. You should have: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding $220 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
