Immediate opening: we are hiring a power float operator in Macon County, Illinois. The role involves: • Strip and clean formwork once the concrete has gained strength • Cut control and expansion joints at the correct spacing • Lay PCC blinding and the damp-proof membrane over the prepared subgrade • Discharge and place concrete from transit mixers and pumps into the forms • Screed and level slabs to the marked dead level and falls • Patch honeycombs and tie-rod holes with non-shrink grout Ideal candidate: • Able to read structural drawings and bar bending schedules • Hands-on with poker vibrators, power floats and concrete mixers 5+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time with occasional weekends. $190 per day, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
