Immediate opening: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Madison County, Iowa. Requirements: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Your main tasks: • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale Full-time, day shift.
