Urgent requirement: we are hiring a core maker in Murray County, Minnesota. The job is at a busy iron foundry. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Day to day you will inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together. 5+ years on the tools preferred.
