Furnace operator — Grimes County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a furnace operator in Grimes County, Texas. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. You should have: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Day-to-day duties: • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Walk-in interviews this week.
