Argon welding operator — El Paso County

We are recruiting: we are hiring an argon welding operator in El Paso County, Texas. You will be based at a busy fabrication workshop. Your main tasks: • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel You should have: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. $2,750 per project, negotiable for the right hands.
