Urgent requirement: we are hiring a plant operator in Jefferson County, Illinois. The job is at a road-building project. You will check for underground cables and services before digging; keep the cab clean and complete the daily machine logbook; level and grade the road sub-base to the surveyor's pegs and string lines; backfill and compact soil around pipes and foundations; grease the pins, bushings and slew ring at the start of each shift; excavate trenches and foundations to the marked depths and grade levels. Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of pre-start inspections and basic machine maintenance • Awareness of site safety, PPE and lifting procedures • Able to operate excavator, loader and dozer confidently $4,800 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
