Now hiring: we are hiring a canteen cook in Russell County, Virginia. You will be based in a catering banquet kitchen. The role involves: • Taste and adjust seasoning for consistency • Check fryer oil and change it when it breaks down • Check deliveries and rotate stock using FIFO • Follow cleaning schedules and wash down work surfaces • Cook dishes to order on the grill, fry and sauté stations • Plate and garnish dishes for a quick pass to service Requirements: • Able to lift heavy stock pots and sacks of supplies • Strong knife skills and speed on the line Six days a week, one day off.
