Vacancy available: we are hiring a restoration bricklayer in District of Rutland, England. You should have: • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) On the job you will handle: • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
