Metal caster — Adams County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a metal caster in Adams County, Ohio. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. Day-to-day duties: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together You should have: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Six days a week, one day off.
