Pressman — Cayuga County

Now hiring: we are hiring a pressman in Cayuga County, New York. The role involves fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press; sort bundles by fabric, shade and order number; use a pressing cloth to protect delicate fabrics; operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics. What we are looking for: • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep • Able to keep pace with line speed and piece targets • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment Full-time, day shift.
