Immediate opening: we are hiring a core maker in Dubuque County, Iowa. The job is on the moulding line. Requirements: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Day to day you will tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges. Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Full-time with occasional weekends. Apply today to start as soon as possible.
