Ideal candidate: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts On a typical shift you will inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes.
