Day to day you will keep the arc length and travel speed consistent; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel. Ideal candidate: • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding $4,100 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Overtime paid at a premium rate.
