Brick and block layer — Meigs County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Meigs County, Ohio. The role involves: • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses What we are looking for: • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
