Steel fixer — Jefferson County

Join our team: we are hiring a steel fixer in Jefferson County, Wisconsin. You will be based at a precast concrete yard. Day-to-day duties: • Fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust • Form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions • Assemble column and beam cages on the bench Requirements: • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
