Immediate opening: port container crane operator (Virginia)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a port container crane operator in City of Galax, Virginia. You will be based at a shipbuilding yard. On the job you will handle: • Park up the crane, stow the jib and isolate at end of shift • Watch the load moment indicator (LMI) and stay within rated capacity • Fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure • Climb and inspect the tower crane mast and tie-ins • Set up the outriggers and level the crane on firm ground • Work out the load weight and the lifting radius What we are looking for: • Strong attention to safety and load limits • Sound knowledge of rigging and slinging • Proven experience on mobile, tower or overhead cranes Six days a week, one day off.
