Join our team: we are hiring a foundry worker in Umatilla County, Oregon. The job is at a busy iron foundry. On the job you will handle: • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture Ideal candidate: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Full-time with occasional weekends.
