Now hiring: we are hiring a bricklayer in Crosby County, Texas. The job is on a busy housing site. You should have: • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) Your main tasks: • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb 2+ years on the tools preferred. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
