Immediate opening: we are hiring a concrete worker in Calhoun County, Alabama. The job is in a residential housing project. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working at heights and on scaffolds • Sound knowledge of concrete grades, slump and curing periods • Able to work to tight pour schedules and night pours On the job you will handle: • Screed and level slabs to the marked dead level and falls • Give broom or steel-trowel finishes as specified • Strip and clean formwork once the concrete has gained strength • Float and trowel surfaces with a bull float and power trowel for a smooth finish • Carry out slump tests and cast cubes for the lab • Erect and align timber and steel shuttering before each pour 6+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
