Plant operator — Yancey County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a plant operator in Yancey County, North Carolina. You will work in an open-cast mine. Ideal candidate: • Able to operate excavator, loader and dozer confidently • Valid heavy equipment / plant operator licence • Minimum 2-3 years' experience operating earthmoving machinery On the job you will handle: • Backfill and compact soil around pipes and foundations • Operate the boom, stick and bucket to dig, lift and place material • Carry out daily pre-start checks on engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid and track tension • Load trucks with spoil, aggregate and overburden using the bucket • Read site drawings and follow the batter and slope profiles 4+ years on the tools preferred.
