Now hiring: we are hiring a dogger in Bureau County, Illinois. You will inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift; tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear; secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists. What we are looking for: • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Willing to work shifts, weekends and outdoors in all weather Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
