Crane rigger — Bedford County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a crane rigger in Bedford County, Virginia. You will be based in a steel fabrication yard. Ideal candidate: • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness Your main tasks: • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. Meals and transport allowance provided. $3,800 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Share your details and we will call you back.
